So yesterday after using 'Backup and restore' to back everything up, I finally updated my phone to 2.1, but I have a few problems/issues (both with the backup and the update in general).
I'd appreciate any help anyone can provide, thanks.
- My applications were backed up, but I lost the data, surely this should've been backed up too, or already saved on the memory card?
- As it went to the market to find all of the apps to reinstall, a number of times it said that the application wasn't found in the market, I have no idea what apps weren't found, but I'd really like to know, is it possible to find out?
- Another problem with applications, I've purposely not updated some of my apps as I knew that the later versions weren't as good as the ones I already had. With the 'backup' of the apps, as it didn't really back them up, and just contained a link to them in the market, it installed the latest versions, is it possible to go back to a previous version?
- My phonebook has been messed up too. It has merged some of my contacts, duplicated the same numbers/emails within a contact so viewing some contacts shows the same number/email multiple times. Some contacts are just email addresses too, presumably pulled from my gmail account? I really don't want them there, if I delete them in my phonebook will they just delete from there, or will they be deleted from my gmail account too? And if I do delete them from the phonebook, will they just reappear in future after syncing with gmail again?
- Another problem with my phonebook. When I touch a number of a contact on the screen it automatically dials the number. In 1.6 there was an option to disable this, so once you pressed it, it gave you the option to call, and some other options I think (probably message). Now however, I can't find this option, is it still there somewhere?
- My battery took a long time to charge last night, in fact it seemed to not be charging at all, and sometimes even going down while on charge (I was using it at the same time), but it never did that before. The battery also doesn't seem to last as long. I've turned off the live wallpapers, wifi, bluetooth, some other things, turned down the brightness to about 60% I think, but when in use the battery it still seems to drain quicker than it used to. Last night my battery temperature was also up to 47 C, 20 more than it is at the moment, that doesn't seem normal.
- The phone seems a bit laggy too, e.g. after touching in the unlock pattern, on sliding between homescreens, and when scrolling the list of apps. It currently seems better than last night, but it's still a bit too laggy for my liking.
I'd appreciate any help anyone can provide, thanks.
