Root Problems during rooting

Hi all could do with a little (maybe a lot) advise
I have a htc desire running 2.3.3 and am trying to root fone just to move all apps to sd card i have followed the revolutionary method and i have s-off and have installed revolutionary CWM v4.0.1.4 and have got up to the stage where it says
IV. Gain Root Access.

1. With the phone still in clockworkmod recovery from the last step, plug it in via USB cable.
2. Select Mounts and Storage by using the volume buttons to move and power to select.


now when i select _mounts and storage i just get the REVOLUTIONARY sign across screen nothing else .... the next thing to do in list is


3. Then select mount sdcard (the sd card directory should pop up on your computer screen) nothing happens and i have to remove battery to restart mobi any ideas pls:confused::confused:thx in advance
 
Welcome to the forum defroster.

I'm going to move this thread to the desire all things root forum. There will be other rooters there so you should get some helpful advice.
 
Try selecting using the trackpad rather than the power button.

You have to use power to select when in the hboot screen, but once you are in recovery the trackpad selects, and power acts as a power button again.

By the way, if this is the problem, you are far from the first to be caught :)
