Help Problems ending a phone call

Oftentimes when I attempt to end a phone call, the screen goes dark. I have read on other websites where users have had similar issues. Will this be addressed and fixed soon in a firmware update or is there some type of workaround aside from extending the screen timeout to stop the screen from going dark when attempting to end a phone call?

I have run in to this a couple of times. What I do is tap the lock button and the screen turns on. I can then end the call.
