Help Problems playing videos online and loading the 'gallery'

First of all, the gallery.
It takes ages to open (load the image previews), and sometimes doesn't open at all.
Also, when I take a picture with the camera, I press on the preview screen of the pic I just took to have a look at it, the gallery will open, and it will show me a black screen. Why is this? It happens every time.
If i want to view a picture I just took, I have to go to the home screen, open the gallery and hope it shows up. Recently I have just been using Astro to view everything but its a pain I cannot access my pics from the camera.

Also, the online video playback.
I have tried loads of sites, youtube, bbc etc etc.
It will load the video, it will play the video, but only for a minute or so at a time.
I have tried all sorts of browsers incl. stock but it appears videos play using a default android player?
My friend has the desire hd and can play all the videos in full, I cannot.
Is there anyway to change what plays online video?

This is very annoying, my old nokia n85 would play online content better than my nexus can!

Has anyone else experienced similar issues and did you find a fix?

Have you downloaded flash?

I hadn't before. I just have now (flash 10.2) and it has made no difference.
This is getting seriously annoying!

That makes no sense. I can watch any videos whether they are flash, or youtube. I have no idea why you are having this problem.

Do you have many thousands of photos in your Picasaweb account? If so, you should change your gmail account setup to stop syncing those to your phone. That fixed my Gallery sluggishness, but YMMV.

I don't use picasa at all.
When I open the flash app in the market, it has an 'open' button and an uninstall button. It won't let me press the open button, it is greyed out. Is that normal?

Yes that's normal it's a plugin for the browser so you can see flash content.
