Help problems syncing MP3s to GS3 via WMP - tags get corrupted

I can't get syncing to work correctly between WMP 11 and my GS3. WMP appears to sync all the files I drop in the sync list, I can find the files on my phone, but they never show up correctly in the default music player. The album art is sometimes wrong, the artist and album title are both listed as <unknown>, and no songs show up on the phone when I click on the <unknown> titled album.

I know the problem is with the sync procedure itself because everything is fine if I manually copy the music files over to the phone via windows explorer. I also know that all of my songs are tagged correctly before being copied over.

Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a workaround?

I had problems syncing to my original Galaxy S via WMP two years ago. I can't believe Samsung hasn't fixed this yet.

I did some searching online and discovered that you can use the Mp3edit android app to fix the mp3 files after they are copied over to the phone. Just open the files in mp3edit and resave them without changing anything and then they will be successfully recognized in the default music player. The only problem is that the files have now changed, so if you try to sync again in WMP, all of those files will be copied over again since WMP thinks they are different. That entirely defeats the purpose of sync, so I don't consider that to be a solution.

Yeah that's happened to me too, I never did figure out why. I'm pretty sure it's an android issue. Poweramp might be able to read the tags correctly.

Also I've found if I drag playlists onto my phone instead of sync it seems to work better but still has some issues.

I hear Doubletwist with airsync works well but I haven't tried it.
