The last time I recall my phone working good was back when I had Android 2.2. Updates since then have complicated my life.
With Gingerbread 2.3.3, I have the following problems...
- Camera software will not load, it shows a black screen and nothing else... not menu options
- When I make a phone call and the screen goes shuts off after a bit, I cannot turn the screen back on to end a call or hit any buttons if leaving a voice message and requires that I pull battery
- Phone freezes from time to time and requires that I pull battery
I would classify myself as a noob because I haven't done much with the phone. Yesterday, I tried to fix the problem by manually installing Gingerbread, because I thought the OTA update failed to install properly.
The manual install seemed to be successful, but unfortunately, the problems all remained. So on my phone, Froyo is buggy.
I should note that I have added a task killer and I use only 1/2 of my ram, so that shouldn't be the cause of any of the issues mentioned.
I wanted to try manually installing Froyo 2.2, but I can't for the life of me find it. It looks like the original links to 2.2 have been removed since later updates have come to pass.
I'd appreciate help in 1 of 3 ways..
1. Fixing Gingerbread issues
2. Reverting back to Android 2.2
3. Rooting my phone and flashing whatever will make my phone run great again
Thanks for reading and hopefully someone can help.
