Help problems when connecting to stereo

When I connect my HTC Inspire to a home stereo receiver using a chord that has a headphone jack on one end and has red and white ends on the side that connects to the stereo my google listen app will randomly start playing, the music app will shuffle after 30 seconds of play, voicedialer will activate at times and if i have doubletwist installed on the phone it will start playing. i can only use standard headphones for the audio to work correctly....any ideas? i have rhapsody and would love to listen to it through an amplified sound.

Have you tried a regular auxiliary (headphone type plug at both ends) mine works fine with that kind haven't tried the cord like you are talking about. I have a griffin 6ft chile aux cord
