Problems with Android OS

Hi guys,
I am new to this forum and I am hoping that you guys can help me with some problems that I am currently having with my phone (HTC Desire). After a few months using this handset and Android in general, I realized that there are two major problems:
1. As far as I know, Android only supports FAT32 file system on the microSD card (even ext2,3 and ext4 are not supported), so there is no way I can copy any files larger than 4GB to the SD card. Thus, it is practically impossible to watch HD movies on any Android handsets regardless of the phone specification. The same is also true for Android tablets as well, which is even more frustrating because of the high resolutions those tablets have. Is there any way to implement NTFS support to fix this problem?

2. Android OS does not support adhoc connection created by laptops (the iphone has this function from day 1). For me, this is a major issue because there is no way to share my cable internet connection with my handphone through my laptop (I don't want to mention those Virtual AP software because I need to install them on every laptop that I use to share internet connection).
Any help is deeply appreciated (:

Android tablets can USB host. So in theory, if it can support NTFS formatted USB flash drives, you can put the HD vids on a flash drive and watch from there.
