I've owned a Droid Bionic for about a month now. It's my first smart phone, so in some ways I'm not sure what to expect in terms of stability or lack thereof.
I have several apps installed that behave oddly, and I'm looking for insight as to whether it's the apps, or the phone, or maybe a problem with the SD card (which is a 16GB card).
First problem: Audubon Trees. Every time I turn off the phone and then turn it on again, the app has seemingly disappeared. I have to go back to the Android Market (which now shows it as uninstalled) and download it and install it again. And when I try that, it either doesn't want to download or it gives me any of several error messages (insufficient memory, bad download, or similar). After about four or five attempts, it eventually installs. The app requires a download of more than 20MB, so this gets really annoying really quickly. The problem also rears its head when I connect the phone to my PC in mass storage mode. More often than not, the app disappears when I disconnect the phone from the PC.
Second: WBNS-10TV, an app that accesses news and weather from a local TV station. It has a knack for disappearing when I turn the phone off and back on. However, in this case, a simple redownload and reinstall does the trick.
Third: An app (actually, more like a document) called c:geo Manual, a guide for using an app called c:geo. Same problem as with the WBNS-10TV app, it disappears whenever I turn the phone off and turn it on again.
I have a whole lot of apps installed that don't ever cause me any problems, so this doesn't seem to be generic flakiness, just problems with specific apps.
Are these just flaky apps that don't behave well with this phone? Is there some problem with using a 16GB SD card that might cause these glitches? Do I have a bad phone? Is this level of bugginess to be expected with just-introduced phones? Any fixes out there? Anyone?
