Help Problems with "Call Waiting"???

dwacker

Lurker
Has anyone seen problems with their call waiting functionality on the Atrix? It has happened twice now, where I am on the phone chatting away and someone else calls me.

I was talking to my brother and I choose NOT to answer the call (it was my GF) and I continue talking as if I'm not receiving a call. Then for some unknown reason, the phone automatically transfers over to the incoming call. I kept talking like I was talking to my brother, yet it was my GF listening to what I was saying.

This is a HUGE issue for me since I use this for business. If I can't rely on the phone to function correctly then I'll be back to an iPhone 4 faster than you can say "Cat in a Hat". I can only imagine... talking to my girlfriend... and suddenly it autoanswers an incoming business call without me knowing?? Man that could be bad...

Has anyone seen this or experienced it???

Not sure if a different Atrix will correct. Hope so - like the phone otherwise, but am business user too. Mine intermittently drops call I'm on and connects to call waiting caller. Has happened regularly. Today, a text message from a dropped caller (my GF - aware of the problem, texted me a few minutes after our call was interrupted by this annoying glitch) - her text killed the call that had dropped her. Then the phone froze. I had to reboot. That's it! Goodbye this phone. And if a different one does the same thing, it'll be goodbye Atrix.

This has happened to me several times. I wondered if maybe it was my face touching the screen after looking to see who it was

I thought the same thing. That leads me to think the "call sensor" isn't functioning correctly. If I put the phone back to my face and the buttons are still active, then it looks like we have a problem and Bye Bye Atrix. Returning mine for a new one today.

If the problem persists on the new one, I'll either try the HTC Inspire or... *GASP* go back to the iPhone4 until AT&T can get better Androids on the market.

Just to test this, do you guys have this issue if you're using a bluetooth ear piece or the OEM earbuds?
