Help Problems with contacts after upgrade to ATT 4.1.2

ATT update came through OTA. Then I used Kies to back up contacts to Outlook. Then I used Kies to upgrade to 4.1.2

I found multiple copies of contacts on my cell phone. Initially, I began deleting the extra copies, until sanity prevailed. I began looking at the settings, and I found contacts listed under Google, Phone, SIM, etc.

Sooo, I think I've made things worse. Would someone tell me how I can best get all my contacts in one spot, delete extracopies, and then transfer the cleaned up list to phone, Google, etc...... Any explanation that will help me understand what I did and how not to do it again would help.

PS: I'm having crappy battery life with Jelly Bean. Under ICS, my battery life was great. Because of the battery life issue, I want to uninstall Jelly Bean.

If I do this with Kies, maybe I dont' need to worry about the contacts, and just go back to what I had 3 days ago?

I've found the easiest thing to do is to consolidate all my contact in gmail. I've had several issues with my phone lately and having don this has been a life saver.

Your best option may be as I said to consolidate contacts in gmail/Google and back up all your data. Do a reset and re-establish you contacts. Select the contacts list to show only Google contacts and life is easy. Since upgrading to 4.1.2 I haven't been able to connect my phone with Kies, so I just use my PC windows explorer function to back all data up to my computer. Also Google + is handy for storing all you photos.

If the reset doesn't fix your batter issue (mine is better with 4.1.2) an app like Juice Defender may help.

Good luck.
