Problems with Droid Turbo!

Hi,
I just upgraded to the Droid Turbo last weekend and I am having a few issues already. First issue is the "ok Google now" from the lock screen only works every once in awhile. The second issue is my text notification sound and email notification sound will work for a day and then all of a sudden stop working.

Any help is appreciated!

Welcome to Android Forums.

You have a great phone.

For OK Google Now did you try retraining the launch phrase? It may currently be marginal. I use OK Droid as mt launch phrase and had to record it 28 times before it was accepted.

For the missing sounds ... it is likely that it is caqused by an app that you added. Try running in Safe Mode (disabling all apps you added witout uninstalling them). If the problem stops it is casued by an app that you added.

Thank you for the quick response! Im still getting use to this phone and I am not sure how to run in safe mode. If you could explain to me how to do that I would appreciate it.

Hit power off.
When the dialog appears long press on the Power Off.
When the dialog appears press OK.

It will reboot into Safe Mode.

You exit Safe Mode by doing a normal reboot.

Also I tried the " ok droid" but it would not accept it no matter how many times I said it. Ok Google now works every time when phone is not on lock screen. It's only an issue when it's on lock screen.

I will get a text and my " droid" notification will sound. And then say 10 minutes later I will recieve another text and it will pop up on the screen but there will be no notification sound. If I reboot the phone that seems to help for a short time.

Have you gone to Settings | Sound and seen what the sound volumes were when in works and when it doesn't work?

Are you connected to a computer with an USB cable when it works? When it doesn't work?

I'm not connected to a computer at all. I have gone to settings and my volume never changes. I always have it turned all the way up. I have double and triple checked the sound notification volume. I am out of ideas!!!

I didn't realize that this is supposed to work while the phone is locked. I don't think it's ever worked on my phone while locked. Was there a special setting you had to turn-on in order to activate this (even though it's not working for you at the moment)?

What texting app are you using? I use Textra SMS and have not encountered this issue.

Thom I am using the Verizon message+ app that came with the phone.

Yes if you go to google settings you can turn on " activate while on lock screen ". I have only been able to get it to work 3 or 4 times.

It sounds like you are using the Google search app "OK Google" detection, which doesn't work on the lock screen, rather than Moto Voice.

Open the Google settings app, tap "Search & Now", then "Voice", then "OK Google detection, and turn all of the settings off, at least for now. Open the Moto app, and this page: http://androidheadlines.com/2014/10/android-setup-moto-voice-motorola-droid-turbo.html has a video showing how to set up Moto Voice.

See if that helps.

Also in the Moto App there is option to "speak PIN to unlock". So far this has been working well for me.

If you don't use it, it's better to just turn it off in the moto settings...mine went haywire a couple of times picking up noises and trying plug in errant pin codes. Not good. I never found it essential so it's off, no prlm.

I've had my phone for 3 weeks and my tones are acting as you have described. Sometimes they work, sometimes they just don't. I have done everything. I did a factory reset and have not used any volume toggle apps... Any help would be great. I don't really want to send it back and get a refurbished phone.
