Help Problems with Gallery and sync with camera

Lurker
OK - first off, I deleted "Gallery" from the tablet and now I cannot re-install it.

Second - I am going on a long trip and will be using the Nexus 7 to do daily travel logs. My camera is a Nikon Coolpix S8100. I cannot figure out how to transfer photos from the Nikon to my Nexus 7. The Nikon does not support Wi-Fi. HELP!!!

How did you delete it? Even being rooted, I can't delete it.
Are you sure you just didn't disable it? If so, you can go into Settings -> Applications -> All Applications, find the Gallery and enable it.

Great glad to hear! :)
I did it myself to troubleshoot and got confused since once it was disabled, it moved to the very bottom of the list of apps.

You might want to look at this Sticky thread.

Sticky: Adventures in USB OTG; what are you using it for?

If you use any kind of computer you can use it to transfer files - including images - to your Nexus 7, and of course from your camera. But I assume you mean directly, in which case you will need an OTG cable and something like Nexus Media Importer which while not free is very good at its job - and doesn't require a rooted tablet.

Works perfectly with my camera(s). :-)

John Bean - perfect, perfect, perfect. Now I have all the software and hardware tools I need for the travel blog. Thanks so much!
