Problems with Gmail account.....

Hi all.

My problem is this...

I have recently upgraded from HTC Desire HD to Samsung Galaxy S3.
Now i gave my Desire to my wife and it has my gmail account synced to it, as does my S3.
Now everytime she makes changes to the contacts or calendar on the desire, it affects things on my S3.

So how do i switch off / deactivate my Gmail account on the Desire but still keep it working on the S3?

Do i simply need to go to settings > accounts & sync > remove account,

or is a factory reset required.

The desire HD is rooted with Runny droid, so would a factory reset do any damage to the phone?

Thanks all,

Louis

you have same google account on both devices? then it would be a problem, infact anything that is synched thru that google account on one device will affect the other device.

just go to remove account option that you mentioned. logout from all the apps (Gmail, Talk) and unsync. that should do!

Cheers! :)

so removing my gmail account on the desire hd will not remove my account or affect anything on the S3 then?

Thanks

Louis

Right,............. just tried deleting the gmail account from the desire hd, however it requests a factory reset in order to complete the removal.

Is a factory reset safe on a rooted device or will it damage it?

I need to get the gmail account removed from the desire hd but not the s3
