Problems with GPS (Searching for GPS)

Can anyone help me? I have a Galaxy Ace 2. I use the navigation tool on Google Maps. It used to work well but now I just get a message saying "Searching for GPS" and it never locks on and therefore can't navigate.

I have tried various things that people have suggested which were:

Taking the battery out
Downloading another Maps app
Clearing the cache and data from Google maps
Dowloading a GPS Status app

None of these have worked. I still cannot use navigation on Google maps.

Can anyone in the universe help me fix this problem?

Thank you all in advance.

Hi Harry2. I have just cleared the AGPS on the GPS status app (GPS Status and Tools) and unfortunately there is no difference. I'm not sure how to 'update' as you suggested.

Any other suggestion greatly welcome.

Thanks

Well, there are different expressions for this on the GPS tool apps :)
If you clear or reset AGPS then you should also update or download AGPS with your GPS tool.
(Note, for AGPS mobile data or WiFi must be available).

So the phone would get the AGPS of your actual location, that helps for a faster GPS lock.
After that you'd get a GPS lock without needing mobile data or WiFi :)

Hi again Harry, unfortunately, that didn't work either. It's really frustrating as there are so many Apps that require GPS to function properly.

Again, if you have any other suggestions that would be great

Thanks again

One thing you might check is, in GPS Status, is your device seeing any GPS Signals? They should show up as bars below the compass rose on the display. If you aren't seeing ANY satellites, your GPS receiver may have gone bad.

Hi, thank you both for your help. The issue is slightly better since I reset the GPS tool and also download the aGPS, but it's not great.

Is it possible to get the GPS sensor upgraded?
