Help Problems with Hotmail and ActiveSync

Folks,

I am a complete Android newbie coming over from years of BlackBerry use. I just got an HTC Droid Incredible 2 to replace my Storm2. My big issue of the moment is getting Hotmail to sync properly.

I have configured Hotmail using ActiveSync as noted in the directions found here (How to setup Hotmail on Android Phones) and the account does get created on the Droid and email does in fact get synced to the phone.

The problem is that if I DELETE an email on the phone, it appears to delete the message but then the app immediately resyncs with Hotmail and all messages are restored, including the email I just deleted. There does not seem to be any way to actually delete a Hotmail message from the phone.

Has anyone setup Hotmail successfully on this phone? Help would be most appreciated!

I have Hotmail on my phone. I set it up by adding a new Mail account from the phone. I don't have the problem you are having. You might need to go to your online Hotmail Account-Options and change the POP and deleting downloaded messages options. I have mine set at " Do what my other program says-if it says to delete messages, then delete them".

Did you setup the Hotmail account on your Droid as an Exchange account (using ActiveSync) or did you just tell the email setup program it was a Hotmail account?
