Help Problems with keyboard lag?

A few weeks after getting this phone I have had problems where I click a text box and the keyboard doesn't instantly display and can take a while to pop up and sometimes when it pops up it is completely black where the keyboard id supposed to be. I have tried several keyboards including the stock ones and all have the same problem at one point. Does anyone know what causes this or any fixes to this problem?

Which keyboard are you using?

I've used Perfect Keyboard, ICS Keyboard, Jelly Bean Keyboard, LG Keyboard, GB Keyboard, Swiftkey, GO, and all have given me trouble except for GingerBread keyboard which gives me the least problems.

Could be an app or process running in the background and slowing things down. Look at what's running and try shutting them down one at a time, if it perks up the last thing you closed was to blame.
