I've just upgraded my OS on my Motorola Moto E phone to Lollipop 5.1. It's pretty clear that it requires too many resources for my little phone. It's sometimes so slow that I can't type anything or swipe the screen. And, to be honest, I don't like the things that have been changed. I preferred simple icon notifications and silent mode. It takes me a lot more key presses now to get to the app I want from the locked screen.
Is it possible to either:
1) Safely and simply revert to the previous version; or,
2) Access advanced settings and turn off features that I don't need like the animations?
I am annoyed that Motorola have released this upgrade on phones that can't handle it. In effect, they have made my phone pretty much useless. I suppose they expect me to buy a new one. I have already contacted their tech support and they will not help.
By the way, I have seen a lot of other people with this problem on Quora.
Thanks for your help.
