My x10 has somehow got 2 pretty major problems. The first is that the phone is deleteing some of my contacts meaning i have to reload them from the SD card.
The second is that the phone turns itself off for no reason eventhough it is fully charged and the power button has not been pressed. Anyone know why its doing this???
OMG....where to start.
Contacts deleting themselves...that sounds impossible. It could have happened if you did upgrade the phone from old Android 1.6 to 2.1 using PC Companion or better yet the SEUS software -
Sony Ericsson - Support - Softwaredownloads - Detailed - Updateservice - Xperia? X10
When you have contacts setup, use the Sync feature to sync your contacts with your sony or google account online....that is the easiest and best way to do it.
As for the device turning itself off...that has happened to me once in 4+ months I've had the phone and for me it was because I had to much junk going on on the phone. I was playing music, playing a game, texting people and I noticed the phone was getting laggy and instead of closing some programs I just kept going until it shutdown....didn't shut down instantly....I stopped playing music, put the phone down and looked away for about 30 sec. and the phone was off.
So I downloaded a task manager that shows me what is running in the background and shows me how much of the phone I am using. A lot of people talk about Juice Defender or something....I use something called Mobile Guard Netqin which shows me how much CPU power and memory is being used and automatically shuts down applications that don't close all the way.
Example...I have Angry Birds installed...I click Back and back out of the program and then go about my day....an hour later I take a look and I see that Angry Birds is still running in the background because I didn't quit the program...I backed out. I could re-enter the program and go to the title screen and chose exit....or I could open Mobile Guard and click the Optimize button or go to the list of tasks running and close it.
Same with loading a bunch of apps. Within the first week of having the phone I loaded at least 70 apps on the phone and it got slower. I later removed about 30 apps and it got a little quicker. Updated to 2.1 (wiped out apps) even quicker. Rooted the phone and setup Eminence (a custom ROM with stuff removed like Timescape and a bunch of useless keyboards and face recognition) and the phone got even quicker.
Hope this info helps you out.
