Help Problems with phone shutting off?

Brekin72

Lurker
I've had my ZTE Merit for about 2 weeks now and this has happened to me at least 4 times. I'll go to check my phone after it's sat idle for a few hours and find that it has shut itself off. It will not come back on by holding the power button or even if I try to reboot into Clockworkmod. I end up having to pull the battery and put it back to get it to power on. Just wondering if anyone else has had this issue or any idea what might be causing this? Thanks!

Thanks for the helpful responses! It hasn't acted up for a couple days, but I may try a master reset anyway (after I back up everything of course!) and see if that helps. :)

I hope I am in the right forum now to ask a question. I think I read somewhere that out of area said you can use whatever kernel you have on your phone, and install like IceCreamScamwich2.0, with no need to reflash another kernel. If that is true, then can I use the Z990-ext4-swap-kernel for the kernel and use Z990-PhydeuxRom-2.1.1-ext4 for ROM? Or, if I already have ext4 and swap in the kernel, is it even necessary to havePhydeuxRom-2.1.1?

Thanks

Technically, Yes. However, it'll break your wifi.
