Help Problems with PowerAmp app

I really love this app. The only problem is that when the screen goes to sleep, the music stops like 2 min. Later. (I have the screen time out set for 2 min.) When I wake up the phone, the same song is there, paused, and I just press play and the song starts over from the beginning. When the screen stays on, there is no problem. Just when I or the screen time out occurs. I checked the task manager to make sure its not on auto kill after the screen times out. (I only have the stock task manager) I checked the settings in PowerAmp and didn't see anything that would cause this. I don't know if there i t something to do with the settings for the screen time out and the lock screen settings. Thanks

You have the sleep timer in Power Amps setting set to disabled? Mine is set to disabled and don't have the issues you have.

Problem fixed. :) After doing some research over in the Motorola Atrix forums, someone else was having the same exact problem as me, but with a different music app. Come to find out, I had a few apps on the auto kill list that was causing the problem. (Not an Atrix or Motorola issue). I'm not sure which app it was, but these are the ones that I removed from the auto kill list, (that I put on there): Vlingo, Qik Video, Youtube, Volume Control, MediaShare, Xiialive, Gallery and Music. After I removed these, no problems since.

Someone over in the Motorola Forum mentioned that some other apps are used with the player apps. So, if you have the app. on the auto kill list, the problem would occure.

Please do not use the auto kill list! The Atrix is a powerful device with sufficient memory to store the apps 'running' (more like sleeping/hybernate) in the background. The Android OS is very efficient with respect to managing your apps.

Task manager should only be used to manage bad apps and not simply mindlessly killing apps. Please check out this article and this post from an AF colleauge of mine to see why you don't need to auto kill. You've just experience one side effect of autokilling. Don't take mine or other people's words for it. This is a Google Developer that states why you shouldn't kill tasks. Android Developers Blog: Multitasking the Android Way

I hope you take my advice, disable/uninstall the task manager and be task killing free for a week to see how your battery life/performance is. Not only from my own, but for others, you should notice a great improvement in battery life. If you don't, well I would recommend you look at all your applications because you most likely have a 'rouge' app that isn't sleeping/hybernating when it's not in used. Find it and uninstall it. Task killers really a bandage solution to your issue. You want to find the root cause and eliminate it.

Cheers,
Roze
