Problems with the market?

Have been having a lot of problems recently (started at the weekend) - wifi and 3g. Hangs on 'starting download' and shortly after the little downloading arrow disappears from the notification area.
A reboot later and the app seems to have downloaded all along - the 'new installation' icon in the notification area.

Is anyone else experiencing any issues with the Android Marketplace?
I have tried to download Layar reality browser and it keeps saying download unsuccessful? I can open the Marketplace app and search for apps however I can't download anything?
I've cleared the cache for the marketplace app and restarted the phone a couple of times but to no avail?
I am trying to download the app via my gf's home network and I can use the internet as normal so I know it's not a connectivity issue with the router as such...
Help!?

I've moved your Market question out of the News area and to the Android Lounge where I've merged it with two other threads bringing up that issue.
Market has a reputation for being unstable from time to time. We're seeing reports of that happening again.

I've had trouble since yesterday, hopefully it's googles problem and not a problem with my device!

Yea tried a reboot twice, closed the app down in Advanced task manager and cleared the app's cache...
Any other ideas?
The app version is 1.82 if that makes any difference?
The network is fine, I am using xbox live on it now... I can also browse the net as normal on the phone via the network...
It's now downloading... I refreshed the router, closed the market place app, cleared it's cache and restarted the phone.. tried it again using the router and it wouldn't download :| turned off wi-fi, tried again and it wouldn't work... tried again and it finally started to download woop woop

before i "tried" to root my phone i could download anything from market and it would work everytime, now, it says download unsuccessful for alot of things, and its starting to piss me off, ive unrooted my phone and its still doing it, any ideas?
Pissing me off now, really want to download, i have factory data reseted it twice now, ffs get it sorted google. Cant wait to get a blackberry for christmas, i know your all android lovers, bu i actually am sick of it and ive only had the phone about a month.

I'm having the same issues. It will say "starting download" but it will just stay like that, and the little download notification wont appear at all.

yaay i got it working again
right, go into Talk, go to settings untick auto sign-in go back and sign out, worked for me

I got a droid incredible about 2 months ago, thru verizon. I had no trouble with the market place untill about 3 or 4 days ago. First it would say "memory full". I deleted some apps to make room. this didnt help. I thought I must have to gotten a virus. I completly rebooted my phone, deleting all my apps. Now when I try to download an app. it just starts the download, but never downloads. Tryed to go to a different market, and got the memory full message again. What's up! I read on other fourms the market place is down. Is this true? Need help.
