Help Problems with the other person hearing me when I use speakerphone function

I've had my Galaxy SII now for a couple of weeks and absoloutely love it. In saying that I do have an issue with the speakerphone function.

When I try to use it hands free with the speakerphone function on the phone I find the other person saying that they can't hear me and that I sound very faint on their end of the call.

If I shout at the top of my voice they can hear me. Obviously I'm disappointed by this and concerned. I'm wondering is there something wrong with the phone or am I doing something wrong?.

Are any other of you users experiencing problems with your phone in speakerphone mode?
 
Trawling around the forums I saw someone suggesting trying voice recorder on the phone to check the microphone . I tried this and oddly the microphone records my voice speaking at normal levels so I can only assume that it is possibly an issue with voice calls which is strange
