Procedure to Buy Apps?

Atti03

Newbie
Hello guys , I'm a new user of Android having HTC DESIRE 2.2

I just wanted to know about how to buy apps, when i first went to the market there was only an option to buy from the credit card, as I just have my bank card.

So, is there any other way to buy those apps?

Through Paypal or your debit card may be?

Any help will be appreciated. :)

A "bank card" is a credit card in a sense; works the same way -- you can use it credit or debit. Through Google Checkout you can use any card. Some apps (i.e. Launcher Pro Plus) require a PayPal payment.

You can use a Google Checkout account

Thanks for the help guys. But I dont think Google checkout account offers you to buy something with a debit card. It's only with the credit card, or may be i'm not able to find the accurate information.
If you provide with any links, will be very helpful. :)

I just opened Google checkout, and when I'm trying to register they ask for "cryptoprogramme" , its a code validation which I dont have on my card. And when I asked from my bank to give me the code, they told me that it works only for the credit cards. :(

na it sucks, i dont have nor can i get a credit card.
i have a debit card but wont work with google checkout so if i want a paid app i download it from somewhere.
i paid for launcherpro plus since it is paid via paypal.
unless google give an easier way to pay without requiring a credit card i'm forced into downloading paid apps the pirates way.

Yeh same here. I wanted to buy some apps, but seems like it wont be possible until they introduce Paypal or anything which is more suitable instead of credit cards.

Its been already 6-7 months and the "soon" hasnt arrived.

That's odd. The card on my google checkout clearly states "Debit Card" on it. The only thing I had to input when adding it was the card number, expiration date, and the 3-digit security code on the back.

There's no security code for the debit cards, its only for the credit cards. Atleast here in Belgium.

Can you download the apps without rooting? My HTC DESIRE 2.2 is not rooted, so any help if I can download them through any site? :)

Oh ok, that must be it then. U.S. I think most debit cards can be used as credit as well, it's just charged back to the checking account instead of credit.

i get this when i try to buy an app

then i click 'select payment method' and only 'credit card' appears in the options.
i have enter my debit card details but it is neither visa/mastercard/amex/discover
so it tells me there is an error with my card code.

i have no way around this at all (i'm from the uk).

its long overdue that google provide other options as not everyone has access to a credit card.
there are quite a few paid apps i want but cant get because of this.

as for downloading them, you dont have to be rooted, i find torrents with android apps and some are good but most not what i want, obviously i cannot go into how to do this in detail.

ive used google checkout with my debit card and it worked fine, im also from the uk. its a Lloyds visa debit.

My debit card has " Maestro" & "Mister Cash" written over it. I don't know if it will work or not. Anyways thanks to everyone for the suggestions. If anyone has anything to share, will be very thankful. :)

It does, I use my bank of america check card on my google checkout account and it works just fine.

And I use my Wachovia.. or Wells Fargo... whatever it's called these days but he lives in Belgium and their debit cards are different than ours. It's not a mastercard, visa, discover, etc..
