After a recent update, prior to recent update and after multiple times taking the phone into a local store for evaluation this pone continues to say "process com.android.settings" is not working and there is no way to send/receive text, email, etc. This occurs sporatically once temporarily fixed and when it does, there is no way to communicate until it goes back to the store for analysis, wiping all information off again and starting over. Then it works for a few days to a week and then the message "process com.android.settings" is not working, force restart. When restarting, it does not work. What is causing this? The phone is an Android vsrions 2.3.6, Model # LG-A5695

Hi

Looking around I found this

QUOTE Tap on Settings, then Applications, then Manage Applications, then select All.
Scroll all the way down until you reach Settings, then tap on that to open it.
You should see two 'buttons' that you can click -- "Force stop" and "Clear data"
*
Choose the "Clear data" option, then restart the phone.* In my case, I 'lost' my wallpaper (which I replaced in 15 seconds), but everything else was in tact.* Now, when I go into the "USB Settings", I no longer get an error nor do I get an error when plugging in to my computer's USB port.* Oh, and did I mention that the phone is more responsive now?* And maybe it's my imagination, but battery life is improved.* If only it would brew coffee ...END QUOTE

I don't know it works as I don't have the problem but worth a try.
