Help process com.android.settings

Samsung Galaxy S (US Cellular "Mesmerize") with Android 2.2 operating. When accessing "Notification Ringtones" ... receive the message, "The application Settings (process com.android.settings) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. {Force Close} appears.
Any one here have any idea how to fix this?

Have you rebooted the phone?

Yep....powered phone off, pulled battery out...waited a full minute.....put battery back in ..... problem remains.
Other ideas or fixes??

Did the problem start after doing the Android 2.2 upgrade...?
Just curious as I've heard people complaining of getting errors after doing the upgrade.

If it started occuring after you applied the 2.2 update, you may want to consider doing a factory reset and seeing if that clears up the problem for you.

Which upgrade do you have? EC10 or EE19? How did you install it? At the store, or did it yourself with mini kies?

This thread was created by someone having issues with the EC10 update, most likely done via mini kies download.
