Proclaim speaker issues

Speaker not working. Cannot do hands free or speaker phone. Keypad does not 'beep' when making selections like it did previously. Cannot hear incoming calls (vibrate works OK).

Took it to Walmart wireless dept to see if they had any ideas...phone worked fine there(of course, lol). Symptoms started again couple hours later.

Have already confirmed "SETTINGS" has the Audible Touch Tones and Audible Selection boxes checked. All volumes (incoming, media, system) are turned up to maximum. Volume bar on side is set to loudest. Powered down a couple of times but no luck. Tried different battery.

Only had for 6-7 months and has worked great until today.

Any idea?? Thanks.

This may sound crazy, but is bluetooth turned off? If not, it could be connecting to your headset, car, or something else which will steal the sounds.

a little follow-up...............

Talked to Straight Talk tech support today. No luck...have to return the phone. StraightTalk pays shipping both ways. They won't send replacement phone until they first receive mine. So, anywhere from 5-14 days without phone.

Anyone have any better idea?

FYI.....

StraightTalk warranty is for one year and they only replace with a refurbished phone if after the first 30 days otherwise they will give you a new one.

Recommend buying the $15 / 2 year replacement plan from Walmart if you buy one new. If I had bought this, StraightTalk would have sent an email that would have allowed me to buy a new phone (or put the $ towards a different one) at Walmart right away. This extra warranty also covers any kind of negligence, etc. Just keep receipt and physically have phone in hand when you go to replace it at Walmart (i.e.: if you drop in toilet, pond, etc......fish it out so you can get a new one). Just fyi....hope it's helpful to others.
