anyone know a good free app that changes your phones profile at set times in the day?

for example - have it on loud before i start work at 9am

so i can hear alarm

and have it on vibrate during the night?

If its just for ringer and notifications, shhh auto silencer. However I just hot tasker so no need for it anymore

I user Tasker, it's not free but relatively inexpensive.

Steve

just bought tasker and its a minefield

can you give me a basic step by step of how to do this:

turn my phone onto vibrate at 10pm every day

turn onto loud at 7am (for my alarm)

turn onto vibrate again for work 8am-5am

thanks

Hi

From the first screen choose New
Give it a name like Night, click OK
From the Context menu choose time and select from 22:00 to 07:00
Click the + to add a Task
Select Audio
Select Silent Mode
Switch to Vibrate and click done
Click Done
Click on Slient mode Vibrate
Select Add exit task
Click the +>Audio>Silent Mode and Select off
Click done and done again

Your alarm shoudl not be affected by Silent Mode and will sound at whatever level you set it at regardless.

For your work mode add a new Profile and follow the steps above but change the times.

Let me know if I can be more help.

Tasker can do a whole lot more though. What if you are out after 10pm and you need your phone to ring? What if you have a holiday? I have mine set to Mute only if it is on AC charge and face down. I also have it set to look at my calendar to see if I am at work and only mute on days I am there.

If you search on Google there are a lot of example of stuff it can do.

It has a learning curve but it is extremely versatile. I suggest looking through the Tasker wiki at examples that will help to get you familiar with it. The Tasker Google Group is also a handy resource as well as Tasker-related threads on the various forum sites.
