[Profile] [Root] Auto Nandroid backup Manager

nope same thing i put the script in the same folder on my internal sd and ran it through tasker but it does not work. I checked the path in my external sd card and there are no files there(index1 or 2). I tried changing the original path to sh /mnt/extSdCard/clockworkmod/nandroid.sh and it still does not work. I placed the new script in my external memory card also but no luck. The only thing i can think of is the nandroid.sh is not getting called/run properly. Maybe some issue with 4.2.1.

Or maybe its the way i copy paste the script and edit the file. I am using notepad to do it is that fine or should i get edit plus or something like that?

Dont edit it in windows notepad...

Do you have a root explorer?

Put the script back to /sdcard/clockworkmod and use the path in tasker I said a couple of days ago.... /storage/emulated/legacy etc...

Run the script.

Next, browse root and go to /cache/recovery and look for a file called "extendedcommand" and open it if there.

Let me know if its there or not. If it is, please give me the content of it

i dont have a folder called recovery in the cache folder i have lost+found folder only along with 2 files com.android.providers.settings.data and hidden_volume.txt. I currently used the latest script u posted which uses the external sd is that fine or should i use an earlier script? Also the script used now was edited in notepad.

All the scripts write to /cache/recovery/extendedcommand so if its not there the script ain't running....

And stop using notepad!!!!!!

Just use your phone man. Paste it in the one you downloaded

i tried running the script directly from root explorer it did not work either so.u want me to access the site on my phone copy the script and paste it in the existing script and overwrite everything?

Ok I redid everything directly on my phone deleted the old nandroid.sh file downloaded the original opened it and replaced all the data with the latest one you pasted and still nothing no new file generated. I do not even have that folder in cache. So any ideas?I originally thought it was a 4.2.1 issue but since it is working for you it can not be that.

Edit
Ok I did have some issue with secure settings helper now when I try to run the task from tasker it reboots into recovery but the script is not running it just sits there in the recovery doing nothing.

Ok scratch the last post now after sorting the secure settings helper out I tried running the script and I now get the index 2 and 1 files in my external sd card. I checked the cache folder and I have the folder for recovery with a single file in it called last log. I am trying to add the last log guile but it refuses to let me add it as an attachment I copied the file into another folder renamed it to txt and also tried zipping it but it refuses to attach

So what should happen when you run the script, is it puts extendedcommand into /cache/recovery then when reboot recovery action is taken, it performs whatever is in extendedcommands and then deletes that file. The file wont be there after booting into recovery

Please test task and see what happens.

ok i tried it again it rebooted and booted into the recovery and restarted again after like not even 5 seconds in the recovery and im back into the os and stupid android is saying damaged SD card now :( . I restarted again and its reading my sd card so i tried running the task again now it restarts into the recovery but just stays there does not do anything.

1)

What does it say /cache/recovery/last_ log? That should tell you why first failed (although probably sdcard error)

2) that means extendedcommand did not arrive in /cache/recovery

Is script in tact? Index files etc? Please repeat test

the last_log is giving quite a few errors with philz cannot open /system/philz-touch/philz-touch.ini

I tried runing the script manually and nothing happened. I did make a manual nandroid backup on to the internal memory but i cant see the backup folder anywhere its not in the clockworkmod folder. Its taken up space on the internal memory but i cant find the actual folder and files anywhere. I did a search in root explorer for clockworkmod and it shows me the folder path of the manual backup as /data/media/clockworkmod.

Yeah I found a backup in my /data/media once. Because its /data/media/0 now. You can get to it with a root explorer.

The philz errors are about recovery settings. Not important.

As for running the script doing nothing, don't think I can help. You seem to change a lot and I can't keep up.. .

So anyway, you know to look in the index files to ascertain if its running or not so you have the ability to troubleshoot now

i would prefer it if the backups went on internal memory seems like this rom is not playing well with my external memory card. I have downloaded your nandroid.sh file now and it does absolutely nothing. I ran the file directly from root explorer and it said it had completed but there are no index 1 or 2 on my external memory and no files in the recovery folder. I am totally fed up with this cant make head or tail of wtf is wrong and why this thing runs sometimes and does not run sometimes. I am just going to go back to manually making backups of everything or downgrade back to 4.1.2 and use the original script thats there in the 1st post which i am assuming would work like a charm as the paths are normal.

ok so i did a format system and wiped all the caches and reverted back to 4.1.2 neatrom and all my internal memory files came in a new folder with the path /mnt/sdcard0/0 so i just copied all the data and pasted it in the /mnt/sdcard0 and now i have a clockworkmod folder that i cant delete. I tried deleting the folder via root explorer but it says failed. I tried it via the stock my files and it says deleted but the folder remains there.

i managed to move the folder out to the external memory just cant delete it. So i created a new folder for clockworkmod. I re downloaded the original script and i am trying it with that.

im getting really fed up with tasker now. This is still not working after downgrading to 4.1.2. Stuff thats more complicated than this(photo email profile) works great but this one just refuses to run. I re downloaded the stock profile from the 1st post and used the script and path mentioned there.

In about it says Version 1.3.3u2m. I am just sooo lost now i dont know whats wrong and why this profile refuses to work. I just going to delete the entire nandroid profile and all the scripts i have and try it again from scratch. I tried running the original script manually and it didnt work either, no index files and no recovery folder under cache either.

edit:-

ok deleted everything starting from scratch i added the profile and script files again ran it in tasker it gave me the usual SU permission message and nothing else happened. I checked the backup folder and i have got a file called index2.txt which contains information "/mnt/sdcard/clockworkmod/backup/date time. I then checked the cache folder but that was blank no recovery folder so i am confused.

If you've never used recovery since cache wipe, there probably wont be recovery folder. Script moves extendedcommand to recovery folder but it won't create it. So if it doesn't exist, it can't put file there

Can you manually create it for now?
