Promo apps on Market for $0.10

Grrr, Why do we have to pay 10 pence in the uk? That's about 15 cents. Not only do we still not have 4G yet, we get ripped off by our cousins across the pond.

I can't say it's not worth it though.

already had soundhound from amazon when it was the free app of the day, but I have heard of to many time when someone got an app from amazon when it was free when they switched phones or sd cards they had to pay for the app instead of still being able to download it for free. So ill pay $.10 to have it on my gmail account so I wont ever run into any problems we swicthing phones , sd cards, of if I accidently delete it.
So they are doing this promotion for 10 days? 10 different apps for 10 cents for 10 days?

That's OK, in Canada we pay 10 cents Canadian, that is about 9 cents US...
I got 8 out of the 10. :)

I've not had that experience with Amazon at all. I've switched phones, downloaded the App store on multiple devices and all my apps are there.

I dunno then, but it's happened to two of my friends. Who knows maybe they did something wrong?

My understanding is that Amazon apps are linked to your Amazon account and you can put that account on any device you want. That has certainly been my experience. It's one of the things that Amazon has that is better than Google.

I am so happy with the Market Promo. This is great for people that aren't in the USA. I swear Amazon thinks that the USA = the whole wide world.

I bought Beautiful Widget and all of the 3 games today. Did anyone get Read ItLater Pro? I tried the free version awhile back and I remember that it used a lot of memory and CPU. Do you guys/gals notice the same with the Pro? There's some reviews on the market that says that, which is worrisome.

I like the christmas wallpaper, very smooth on my Galaxy S II, very laggy on my Asus Transformer though.

I've got most of the apps already. :(

Is it sad that I won't pay a dime for the Christmas wallpaper because it's something I'll only use one month a year and I don't see the point? #cheapskate

The good thing with this promo is that it could encourage an iphone like culture of paying for apps in the Android world.

There are a lot of Android users who are averse to paying for apps and popping their cherries once through this promo could make it mentally easier for them to buy apps in the future.

More app revenue = more incentive for developers = more, better apps launched simultaneously with the iOS versions.

I'm like you, thought I don't consider it being a cheapskate. I don't find it worthwile to put an app on my phone if I am not going to use it for very long. Be it cost me or free.

The thing is there are so many FREE apps out there that if you can get the exact same experiences in an app for free but with ads, why wouldn't you?

Plus, apps that have ads DO generate money for the developer in the long run. Angry Bird comes to mind as the star child of ad embedded app that has made Rio a LOT of money. The claimed that they generate over a million dollars a month JUST in ADS revenue from the ap.

So...back to my question. Has anyone bought the Read It Later Pro? Thoughts on its CPU usage?

It would have been worse if they left it as 10 cents American, which would have caused exchange fees that would cost far more than the actual app.

wow! There's me thinking that developers make more money from iphone users.

Anyway, no idea on Read It Later. I didn't bother getting it as I couldn't think of a use. If I was still using public transport I would get it for the tunnels.

I did get Fruit Ninja because of a current feverish score rivalry in my family. It's exactly the same as the Free version but no ads for 10p is a bargain (I think )

I have it 'cuz I got it when it was free on Amazon. I haven't ever used it because I realized I didn't have a Read it Later account and I'm too lazy to set one up.

@Sak01 - I think it downloads your articles so you can read them offline so being somewhere where you get no data wouldn't matter.

Apple app developers still make more than Android. It's just that there apps that DO make money for developers.

If you're interested in following a developer and how much he makes each moth from his apps: Reports

I would like to add that if you search the apps on the list from yesterday, you can still get those apps for $0.10 apiece.

I just got Sound Hound, but it doesn't seem to work with SwiftKey, which is back at regular price.

I guess YMMV

SwiftKey X is no longer showing up with that price btw. Most of the others were still 10 cents from yesterday but not that one. Drat! Missed it.
