Help PS3 Controller on MXQ

Hi guys,
I've always used my ps3 controller with an OTG cable on my samsung phone for games.... i recently have purchased an mxq box and wanted to use my controller on there..... plugged it in nothing happens but it lights up so i know it is connected.

I can't find any information in the settings of the box.... any suggestions or does anybody know the answer?

Does your box have bluetooth the ps3 controllers use bluethooth to connect wirelessly. If your box has bluetooth turn it on plug in the ps3 controller and see if it pairs

not sure if the box has bluetooth can't see it in the settings... if i plug ps3 controller into my galaxy s4 it works... i would have to download an app for the bluetooth on controller to work but i might give it a go i am just unsure why it isn't picking it up when i plug it in......
