HID profile is one of the many Bluetooth Profiles. It is called the "Human Interface Device" Profile. It is the main Bluetooth Profile used to connect keyboards and mice and other interface devices together.
You can see a list of profiles here.
There are some custom HID profiles written, but they all require a rooted device.
Until someone either writes their own HID API to interface with the bluetooth device, or Android supports this, it will be on hold.

Definitely would want, but more interested in an apk that can do both bluetooth communication with the ps3 as mouse support via touchscreen (via droid x), and keyboard via virtual keys, and at the same time have the open remote play capabilities like that of any pc can now have with the PS3. (yes any pc, not just SONY vaio.) linked resource

The remote play shouldn't be too hard to port as it is more of a network thing. However, until there is an HID profile for Android, the bluetooth stuff will not work.

sounds mint. I would love it just to be able to log in to PS3 network and be used to type messages to friends
