Ps4?

I don't think they will release a ps4 anytime soon. But curious if anyone knows if Sony has any plans of releasing a patch to enable the ps3 to play ps2 games?

the xbox or PS3 will not be bringing out a new console any time soon because tehy are both investing their time and money on movement controls and why would they re-release a new console in the near future as teh machine they got released is great

2012 is the date for the next next gen consoles haha. The new xbox is expected to be released in 2012. I recommend getting an xbox over a playstation. Its wayyyy more competitive and fun IMO. Yes you have to pay to play online, but it is worth every penny.

I can't see how you could say either the PS3 or Xbox are more competitive than each other.

If you want competitive gaming, PC is the only way.

If I want gaming I take console anytime, but if I'm gonna hit it up with my buddies. I'd take PC. I'm not sure about ps4 to be honest, I know sony have gotten a bad beating with their PS3. So I will be intrested in seeing how they manage to pull the minus into postive, when it comes to term of income.

For your statement I'm proud owner of PS3, but I'm just noticing a trend that ps3 only games is going to xbox 360 lately.

Honestly the ps3 still seems kind of young in a lot of ways just now are the real big name titles coming out on ps3. I'd expect another round or 2 of big name sequels before ps4 talk starts up in earnest. Like others have said another 3-5 years.

If you want to play PS2 games on your PS3, you either need to get an older 60GB original PS3 (it has the Emotion Engine PS2 hardware emulator chip in it, this is the version of the PS3 I have) or a second gen one, the did away with the hardware EE and went with a software emulator, and while it didn't work with every game and wasn't quite as good as the EE chip, it worked good enough. But they completely did away with backwards compatibility a few years back, and won't be bringing it back. I'm sure if you checked Wikipedia or something, you could figure out which consoles can do what.
