Help punctuation marks at top of Samsung key board

Samsung S3 on Jelly Bean 4.1.2

on my stock Samsung key board I don't have a short list of these every day punctuation marks - @ ' ! ? , above the key pad, any idea how I can get them.

I have them on my Samsung ace 2 on jelly bean 4.1.2, I under stand that they would be different version of Jelly bean.

Your help would be appreciated.

I don't know how to solve your problem. But have you tried other keyboards? I use swiftkey and I enjoy it much more than the stock keyboard. All these icons you are mentioning are linked with a letter, when you long press them you get the icon you want.

Perfect Keyboard Free has the punctuation marks in the suggestion bar.

I think most do until you start typing a word tbh mate. Until you start a word, all it can suggest is punctuation lol

Ah, but Perfect Keyboard also suggests punctuation AFTER each word you have typed, so you can follow it with... punctuation

Actually Swiftkey doesn't, I just realized. It offers up suggested NEXT WORD even before you start typing. Mine starts with "I" as its first predicted word.

Lol mine would start with @%$*$&
Dont think ive ever started a text with "I"

Go into keyboard settings, turn off Next Word Prediction.

If that doesn't work, download the Google keyboard from the Play Store.
