purchase date?

hi there strangers

i purchased a phone, Samsung galaxy ace, some time in the last 2 years and have lost my receipt and now the phone is playing up, so i need to find out the purchase date 4 the phone (e.g using the phone serial number or in the phone info or anything and anyway); does anyone know how to do that?

Hmm. The phone's serial number won't by itself tell you when you bought it, though it might tell you what month it was made (which might be a couple of months earlier). The best bet might be to see whether the shop/network you bought it from has a record of the purchase.

If you ordered it online you'll probably have emails confirming the order, unless you deleted them.

I would think your carrier might be able to tell you (possibly online) when you activated the phone. At least, that's how it's worked for me via Verizon.
