Purchasing from the Android Market

Hi everyone, not sure if this has been asked before (I tried searching but it just took ages to search with nothing happening), and I'm not sure if this is the correct place to ask this question, but here goes.

Basically, I thought that when I choose to purchase an item from the android market, that it would simply add the cost to my mobile bill at the end of the month. However, it appears this is not the case because it's asking me to enter my debit/credit card details for payment. Is this always the case, or is there a setting or something I can change somewhere? I don't want to hassle of doing this every time I wish to purchase from the market.

The Market will only deduct from your mobile bill if your carrier supports direct billing from Market. If not, then you will need to buy via credit card.

To further ChanChan's answer, you would only need to set this up for your first market purchase. From then on, the market will simply bill the card you set up with the account.

I actually prefer it this way as I don't have to worry about my 17 yr old racking up the phone bill buying apps (as he did with his dumb phone:mad:). He has to buy apps using his debit card, so he is more careful.

Your credit card information will be stored in your google account. The next paid app that you download will be bought automatically.
