Root Push Button Root for EVO Shift?

When last I looked, there were only 2 options for rooting the EVO Shift running 2.3.3...

1) a very convoluted temp root and

2) an equally convoluted perm root, provided you could downgrade to Froyo first.

May device came from Sprint pre-loaded with 2.3.3, so downgrading isn't an option. I was hoping there was a super simple, "push here dummy" option for rooting OR temp rooting, such as fr3vo, z4 or GingerBreak, that I could load, run, and repeat as/if necessary.

I tried this and it didn't work for me on my shift

I was wondering if anyone had tried evildevnulls shift root kit and if that was worth trying

I'm trying to root my shift as well and all these options are far to advanced for me did anyone find an easier way?
