I have an LG - E400R 3.0 pixel Telus phone is frozen and low on space all the time. I bought an sd card but can't seem to transfer anything to it

If it is still running android 2.3 then you should just be able to move apps to sd using the Applications menu of the phone (select app, and if it has a "move to sd" button you can do it). System apps can't be moved (but live in a different partition anyway, so not an issue), and widgets will break if you move the app to SD.
