I have a question and I hope you can help me?

How can I use the ascend roms to upgrade my u8230, I do believe that this is possible because they have the same hardware on the other hand the u8230 can be upgraded with the pulse (u8220) in spite the difference in their hardware and this push me to believe that upgrading the u8230 is possible (and more stable) with the ascend roms I HOPE THAT OUR EXPERTS CAN HELP AND GUIDE US TO A POSSIBLE WAY TO DO THIS.

I don't know the answer to that either,but,if there is a stable CM7 ROM port or any GINGERBREAD ROM that is compatible w/both the u8220 & u8230,why not go w/that?
If this phone is the same as the T-MOBILE COMET,I know someone who's currently running an unofficial port of CM7 (using CWM 3.0.0.5 RECOVERY) on it & it works flawlessly.
I'm fairly certain they got the link to this from XDA DEVELOPERS,not sure if it's listed as a u8220 or u8230 ROM,but,as you stated,what works on one will work on the other.

I found this on PrepaidAndroids.com posted by Isaacj87 who is the reason we have custom ROMs for the Ascend. His reply was to a question almost identical to yours.

"They're mistaken. Trust me. Try flashing a U8230 ROM :teehee: (Please, don't actually try). They have the same body and I think Huawei took the same design elements, but they're not the same phones. Like another poster said, the C8600 is actually the same phone. "

The reason for looking to have roms of the ascend on my u8230 is because after I tried almost all of the available roms for the 8220/8230 they are either unstable, battery eating, very slow OR the camera not working. So I'm trying to find a new line of roms to test and I hope I can find one rom that is fast, stable, and help me in everyday use


Is there anyway to have the ascend roms to work on the u8230 ? pls help me

In short, no.
Not in any truly functioning form.

However with the right tools (and lord Google) a port should be doable. But these things take time and dedication.

Hang out in xda for a while and learn more about compiling a rom from source. Then maybe you can use the partially working roms to give you a jumpstart.
