[Q] Using proximity sensor as power button for locking screen

Hi,
My phone is Huawei Ascend G525. I've installed AUTO SCREEN to lock my phone and turn its screen off automatically when I cover it up. I want to know whether it can harm my phone and its sensor?????

Hi

I've been using Gravity Screen to do the same for a long time with no ill effects. You can also turn the screen on by swiping over it.

And even at That, the sensor uses very little power.
I recommend gravity screen too
I'd rather break the prox sensor than the power button 🔲 :)

Try saying that when your cheek ends your calls for you with a broken prox sensor. Lol.

Thank you friends. But I didn't understand whether it will damage my proximity sensor or not (using for ever). Do you recommend putting my feet upon this tool? or I should put it away???
Proximity sensor consisted of two diodes which one is transmitter and another is receiver.
I also think that acceleration sensor would not work well especially when I'm walking. So I think that proximity sensor is the best.

In my opinion, don't worry about it, just use it. It isnt a mechanical part like a power switch so it won't degrade as such.
When was the last time your TV remote's diode broke?

And DONT use any motion sensor to turn your phone on, it will literally suck your battery dry
