I'm "loosely" repeating what my "low-voltage" electrician told me. (I am rebuilding a section of my home using low-voltage electric - from LED lighting to soft, reflective lighting on string lights behind decorative molding and under bathroom cabinets in a showcase house)
He and his team say that "Wireless Charging" is great - but if you push too much through the system you're going to have problems with resistance. If you want higher output, then it's safer for both the charger and the system charging the battery to have a direct connection.
Until the technology develops for high capacity/fast charging systems ... there is no better way to charge than with a direct connection.
(... again ... I am only repeating what I've been told.)
