Help "Quadrooter" Threat

Will (& WHEN) will HTC release security patch(es) for the "Quadrooter" security threat! Our M8s apparently are not getting the next android version, but [hopefully] HTC will see fit to continue to provide security patches for active HTC handsets!

Anyone have information about this?

I had an online chat with an HTC "Support?" representative who said that the patch for 'Quadroote' comes from Google.
