Help Question about Android System App in App Manager (about Spyware)

Hey,
Ok so bit of a paranoid question I suppose, I had a feeling that someone might have installed spyware on my phone, my phone has been acting strange recently and what got me to look today was that my phone said "System has stopped working" but my phone continued to run fine, probably not really a point into going into the other reasons I initially thought that there might be spyware....I was looking through my application manager and saw "Android System", which I guess is a normal system app.

However I saw this blog which says that there's a cheap/free spyware app that hides itself by calling itself Android System with a system icon.
I'm wondering is there a way to know if my phone has the real Android System in the app manager or whether it's the spyware? This is the blog I saw....

The Android System app has a big list of permissions including reading/writing sms and s memos plus recording audio and video....I know this might be normal but I dont have anyone else with an Android so I can check if it's the same as on my phone

Can anyone help, the file now is 0.0kb...I downloaded Network Connections there to show me what apps are connecting to the internet and Android System is listed....I do still think that it's probably a normal application that everyone has, I just want to make sure tho'.....better safe than sorry

Android system is your "android system". Its your operating system. If it stopped working, it started itself again immediately.

Ok, 2 more things, if the app Android System itself had stopped would it state "Android System has stopped working..." or just "System has stopped working" (which is what I saw).

And to continue on with the paranoia (to be fair, I've been warned that it may be happening so that's why I'm on alert) also looking through my App Manager and there are 2 apps called "Software Update", the first is 24kb has a few permission and the 2nd one which seems a little more suspicous is 268kb and has pretty much all permissions (read messages, read memos, record audio/video, gps location), it's version is v6_1309_4_1

Apologies if this is all ok to be on the phone, it's just that I don't know and upon hearing that these spy apps that hide themselves in app manager under standard names I'm going through app manager to see if I notice something suspicious.

There are also 2 "Factory Mode" apps and 2 S Memo apps, all with full permissions, and an app that a search found nothing for called "Basic Daydreams", so I'm starting to think this is regular for the phone to have 2 apps that have the same name in app manager, but someone who knows what should be in the app manager would be great for peace of mind.

Its normal. One is the standard android version, the other is the Samsung one. Samsung makes its touchwiz versions of all of those and those are the ones you end up using.
System is another normal app that is a system component. Why do you think someone installed spyware? If you're that worried just do a factory data reset.

Seems overly paranoid to me, factory reset as suggested could be the best way to put your mind at ease though.

Did some reading on it, if the op has reason to think it... Its not paranoia. There are companies that do that for stalker husband's and boyfriends.

In my application manager i can see 2 android systems app ( in All and next in downloaded) and when i touch any applications it shows unfortunately your settings has stopped ... Whats the reason behind this? I also cant do the factory reset because of my personal reasons

There should not be "Android System" in downloaded. You can delete any app in downloaded.
