Question about Android tablets and forward compatibilty to gingerbread and honeycomb

I'm in the market for a 10 inch android tablet, but I want something that will be forward compatible to gingerbread and honeycomb when they release as it sounds like the new OS versions will be more tablet friendly, and have tablet specific apps etc..
is there any way on knowing which tablets will be upgradeable?

Also which approx 10" tablet would you get for $600 or less? Thanks!!!!
 
In my opinion, the only tablet out right now, that may be fully "compatible" with Android 3.0 is the Galaxy Tab. Even that will be seriously lacking in specs compared to what should come out after the 1st of the year.

Personally, I am waiting to see what's announced at CES during the first week in January, before I decide on something. I'll be spending about the same as you, and I wouldn't spend any of my money on what is currently available.

As for stylus compatibility, most capacitive stylii should be compatible with any capacitive screen tablet. A regular stylus won't work because of the technology used in a capacitive screen. There are plenty capacitive stylii available from $4 and up, or just search YouTube for ways to make your own. I would love to see a reputable company (Moto, HTC, etc) come out with a tablet, which has a capacitive stylus built-in, since my primary reason in buying a tablet will be to have my clients sign documents on-screen.

Yea after some looking around, I'm thinking that waiting until Feb or so to pick up one that was built for 3.0 from a reputable manufacturer may be the way to go. But on the other hand, waiting sucks Hahahaha, I presume that you could root something like the arches 10" and get 3.0 but not sure....
