Question about Battery Life

I am debating btwn the Droid Bionic and Iphone 4s. The most important thing is battery life to me. Which one is better. The 4g is a non-issue to me and i will probably keep the phone on 3g anyway to save battery life. I am a heavy usser and just need phone that can go on the internet ok. Which one has a better battery life the bionic on 3g or iphone 4s?

Simply based on the screen size, I'd say the iPhone would have a longer battery life. The screen is one of the largest battery drainers on any touch screen phone.

Yeah, I'm going to go with the 4S here but neither are going to give you great battery life, generally. You could always do an extended battery with the Bionic and not have to worry about making it through a day...otherwise battery life is just pathetic...doesn't matter which phone you go for.

at one point i would have said the iphone would have had weaker battery because the battery on iphone 4 is not fantastic but they are suppost to have improved the battery on the 4s quite a bit so i would go with the 4s due to the increase in power of the battery from the iphone 4. 3g eats alot of power anyway so the stronger battery would definitely help.

ok, i guess i am confused because the specs which i got from phone arena say

Iphone 4s
Talk time: Up to 8 hours on 3G, up to 14 hours on 2G (GSM)
Standby time: Up to 200 hours
Internet use: Up to 6 hours on 3G, up to 9 hours on Wi-Fi

droid bionic ( I am assuming this is 4g)
Talk time 10.83 hours
Stand-by time: 200 hours

So the bionic on 3g would be better than the iphone on 3g? If someone knows about this, please let me know

Manufacturer quotes never go true in real life situations, as these numbers are acquired through specific testing that does not mimic real life situations.

As for battery life, it all depends upon your usage. For example, my friend and I have the same phone, his lasts for more than 24hrs, mine barely gets to the end of the day after a full charge at 6am.

That said, I'd think the iPhone has better battery life by virtue of the smaller screen and well optimized apps.

The battery life on the i4/i4s is better than most android phones (bar the S2 and recent releases) under the same load but the matter is there's loads of ways to reduce battery consumption on droids. Plenty of apps that would allow you to turn off data / processes etc to save battery life.

But out of the box / brand new /non-jailbroken-rooted phones ,
i4s would have the better battery life.
