I am currently running BB .3 but if I were to upgrade to .4 do I have to wipe my cache/data when I update?

You can try it without wiping, but if you experience any issues, you should go back and wipe all partitions and then install again. I can tell you that I was unable to go from v0.3 to v0.4 without wiping.

No need to wipe, it should work going from BB to BB.
