Root Question about Converting System apps

Hi all -

OK - I've used Link2SD to move many User applications (along with any libraries, etc.) to an EXT4 formatted partition on my SD card (I used Aparted to create this partition), and found that I can't install additional applications due to System storage getting filled up.

Is there any danger to converting System apps (using common sense to avoid touching obviously important base functionality providing apps) such as Google Talk, etc. to User apps?

On my Samsung Prevail 2, using Link2SD, the System storage shows as being 785 Mb.

I've heard that using FolderMount in conjunction with Link2SD might enable me to relocate some other files that Link2SD won't move...has anyone tried that?

Yes, as long as you use common sense, you can convert system apps to user apps, you can also delete the ones you don't plan to use. Make sure you make a current backup just in case ;)

You can even convert most apps to system apps as well. (this way they will survive a factory reset)
