Root Question about creating 2nd partition on SD card for Link2SD

Trying to create a second partition on my sd card so I can use link2sd. Using Mini Tool I've gone through all the steps and it's now showing my sd card to be 1gig smaller than it started so I'm assuming it worked. I set it to be 1gig using ext2. When I then go into link2sd it still says "second partition not found". I've spent hours trying to figure the damn thing out even reformatting the sd card multiple times and redoing the partition using ext2,ext4 and fat32. Driving me fracking nuts lol. Any thoughts guys?

You must be creating an "embedded" partition or something.

Use cwm to partition. Worked perfect for me.
