I've been doing a lot of tweaking with my SGS3, and am glad to say that my battery life has improved significantly since I learned about some helpful tweaks here on the forum.
However, I'm still trying to better learn what causes the phone to become "awake" while it is not being used. Here is a screenshot from a particularly uneventful cycle:
I noticed that the screen was turned on very few times, but the phone is frequently becoming "awake". The battery life looks pretty good, but I also barely used the phone.
(during this cycle I have turned off sync, wi-fi except where shown, GPS and BT. The only thing left on that I know of is mobile data.)
I checked wakelocks on BetterBatteryStats, and they seem pretty low from what I can tell. The highest percentages are usually "PowerManagerService" or "bam_dmux_wakelock", but they are generally under 5%.
Here are my questions:
Just so I understand the term, are "wakelocks" specifically what are causing the phone to become awake, as it shows in the photo?
Is there a way of knowing what apps are causing the wakelocks, or the "awake" status, so that I can tweak those settings or remove those particular apps? BBS seems somewhat helpful, but I still can't fully tell what apps are waking the phone.
Lastly, are there any apps that help you control how much or when the phone wakes up while in a deep sleep? For example, being able to override anything that causes my phone to wake up except for texts or phone calls?
Thanks for the help!
