Question about downloading apps...

Is it true that when you download large apps from Google Play (games, for example), only a small file is installed to the internal storage, and a large data file is stored on the SD card?

If true, then would an 8GB tablet be enough?

Just make sure you can install an external SD card and if you run out of space.....you can move stuff to your external SD.

More space is always better - even if you don't think you will ever use it.

Not every tablet can use an SD card. But if you do have one, get the highest "class" your tablet can take. The higher the class the faster the card.

No, that is not true. Not all programs can utilize the MicroSD card, and as some have noted, not all devices have slots.

That said, I have one of the original Nexus 7 tablets that came with only 8 GB of storage. I was able to get 2 or 3 hours (I don't remember for sure) of standard definition programming on it for an airplane flight. But generally more memory is better, especially if the device doesn't have a MicroSD slot.

Most of the tablets I've looked at have 8GB-16GB storage and an SD card slot. I'm still torn between the Galaxy Tab 3 (8GB), Hisense Sero 7 Pro (8GB), Asus Memo Pad HD 7 (16GB), Nexus 7 (16GB).

I want the Galaxy Tab because my GF has the Galaxy S4 phone, and I like the TouchWiz interface and Samsung apps, but the device has only 8GB storage.

The Hisense Sero 7 Pro is a great value at $130, but it's from an off-brand manufacturer, so who knows how well it will be supported.

The Asus Memo Pad HD 7 has been getting great reviews, but there have been some issues with lagginess and an unresponsive touchscreen.

So which tablet would you recommend out of the ones I described?
